IDD Therapy or Intervertebral Differential Dynamics is an internal disc decompression therapy or better known as spinal decompression; a non-surgical medical protocol for the effective treatment of painful back syndromes. Developed by a broad spectrum of specialists in the field, the spinal decompression has evolved into a comprehensive disc therapy approach, capable of reducing a herniated disc, sciatica and acute and chronic back pain with up to 90% success rates.
Extensive clinical studies have been conducted to validate IDD Therapy. Thousands of back pain patients have been successfully treated using this protocol.
IDD TherapyŽ or spinal decompression is an innovative approach for the relief of lower back syndromes, including
herniated or bulging discs
,
degenerative disc disease
, posterior facet syndrome,
sciatica
and acute or chronic back pain.
The primary component of this therapy is the utilization of a patented Inter vertebral decompression device referred to as the Spina System. The Spina System is a class II medical device with a 510(k) FDA listing. It is designed to induce spine decompression, reduction and stabilization of vertebral structures.
The Accu-Spina with IDD Therapy has the ability to target specific segments of the lumbar spine for treatment. Over the course of a full treatment regimen, these systems allow the treating specialist the ability to distract the intervertebral space by a distance of 5 to 7 millimeters, thus significantly decreasing pressure inside the disc.
This therapy utilizes the application of distraction forces to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Distraction is offset by cycles of partial relaxation. This technique of decompression prevents muscle spasm and patient guarding during treatment, as pressure within the disc is reduced from + 25 mmHg to (-) 150 mmHg. (2) Negative pressure within the disc is maintained throughout the treatment session. Degenerative disc disease can be effectively treated with the Spina System, because repeated decompression promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrients into the vertebral disc area, thereby naturally re-hydrating and rehabilitating degenerated discs.
In the case of disc herniation, the negative pressure induces the retraction of the herniated or bulging disc, leading to relief of pain.
As you can see in the MRI to the left, the disc has expanded enough to get the patient completely out of pain and back to activities that were impossible before.
IDD Therapy's spinal decompression treatment is not only painless, but comfortable and relaxing as well. Treatment is completed in approximately 35 days with minimal follow-up. Contrarily, surgery requires significant recovery time and extensive follow-up.
For many patients, non-strenuous work can continue during therapy. Employers benefit from less work loss and will refer future employees for treatment.
