Nutrition - The Answer To What Ails You

Nutrition is more important than previously understood. More and more health issues are related to nutrition; the foods we eat and the foods we don't eat can affect how you feel and your quality of life.

We keep getting sicker and sicker.

This is the first time in this century that our children will live fewer years than their parents. It's true. Look around. Everybody's overweight. More health problems are due simply to malnutrition than anything else. And what do our doctors do. They give us a pill. We need to do more.

Americans aren't very healthy due to poor nutrition.

  • 1500 of us die from cancer every day. (figures from 2005)
  • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will have cancer in their lifetime.
  • 1 in 8 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer
  • Heart disease kills more women than breast cancer.
  • 1.1 million Americans have a heart attack every year.
  • 500,000 heart attack victims in America die each year.
  • 24% of Americans have hypertension.
  • 45% Overweight / Obese
  • 27% Cardiovascular disease
  • 19% Pre-diabetic
  • 10% Diabetic
  • and they're all going up

How does the body take in nutrition?

The body takes in nutrition in the form of whole foods and converts it into energy. The cells extract the energy from the blood using oxygen. It's like a little fire going on in every cell in the body.

What is the byproduct of this energy creation?

Oxidation. And what does this oxidation cause; oxidative stress. It attacks the cells and worse, it attacks the DNA. When the DNA is damaged, the cells reproduce damaged. Oxidative stress creates free radicals. There are 10,000 attacks on our cells each and every day. These attacks are a leading contributor to cancer.

The Immune System Steps In

It is the job of the immune system to extract the nutrition and eliminate these mutant cells. It's not a problem. That's the immune system's job. Only when the immune system becomes stressed and overworked, then it cannot do it's job. More cancer cells are created than destroyed. When this happens, we are in trouble. The cancer takes a hold and then it becomes more and more difficult to get rid of it.
