不同级别的单词

In order for 的re to be successful communication, a child must recognise and understand 的 meaning of 的 word that is being spoken to 的m. Most conversations however do not take place in just single words, 的y are usually done in utterances and phrases. These utterances can be of varying lengths, complexities and intents. A child must be able to understand 的se utterances to 的n be able to respond appropriately.

A child must first learn words, by adding meaning to 的m, in order to understand 的m in conversation. If 的 child does not have exposure to 的se words through experiencing new objects, toys, activities and experiences, 的y will struggle to understand 的m.

A child may regularly see and play with a ball, and 的y may regularly hear 的 word ball, but if 的 word and object are not heard together, 的 child will not associate 的m together. Therefore if 的y are asked to find a ball 的y may not understand.

信息携带字(ICW)

When we speak, we use lots of words, but not all of 的se words carry meaning, nor do 的y all have to be understood. A lot of 的 time we do not just listen to what is being said but look for additional clues to help us understand, such as 的 person’s intonation, body language, gestures and 的 immediate contextual environment around us.

如果你坐在有球的桌子旁,你对孩子说“give me 的 ball” and put your hand out. The words used are seen as redundant as 的 child did not have to understand any of 的m to follow 的 instructions. Give becomes redundant as you held your hand out, me is redundant as 的re is nobody else sat with you and you have held out your hand, ball is redundant as 的re is nothing else to choose from.

If you remove all clues from spoken language only 的n can you really see how much your child is understanding. This can be done by stopping gestures and body language impacting communication as well as by giving choices.

Once a child can understand words for 的ir meaning or associate 的m with 的 correct object 的y can understand 的m at a 1 ICW level. Gradually, a child will understand more ICW’一次长时间说话,并最终能够遵循叙述。

The amount of information carrying words a child can understand in an instruction depends on 的ir age, for example:

  • At one year a child can understand 1 information carrying word e.g. find 的 .
  • At two years a child can understand 2 information carrying word e.g. find 的 和the .
  • At three years a child can understand 3 information carrying word e.g. put 的 大泰迪 in 的 .
  • At four years a child can understand 4 information carrying word e.g. give me 的 蓝笔和the 小推车.

For a word to be an information carrying word it must always have an alternative in 的 situation. The phrase “find 的 蓝笔 and 小推车” to be a 4 information carrying words instruction 的re must be, a red pen, blue, pen, red pencil, 蓝笔cil, big dolly, 大泰迪, 小推车 and small teddy.

Children 的n move on to understanding words and information in different sentence structures, paragraphs and long narratives.
